The Problem
Everyday; many, many articles are written about a given topic. But even more comments, blogs and tweets about those articles and topics are posted. The social media space is beating the traditional media to the punch in many cases; but in far more cases they are even less trustworthy.
We as consumers do not know what to believe. Human nature forces us to join communities of like-minded people with which we can identify to help us makes sense of it all. Unfortunately, this also limits our exposure to alternative viewpoints. This is causing us to become more polarized and more cut off. We get the news the way we want to hear it.
The Future
The blog is a place holder and gives us a place to vent.
In the weeks and months to come, this site will be dedicated to finding the bias in news articles and highlighting it, for all to see; adding in facts to go along with the stories; bringing in opinion from other locations. We will endeavor to strike down emotional reporting and sensationalism and offer opinion (as opinion) and related facts in context.
In the end, the consumer is the ultimate judge of the information, both of our content and that on which we comment. It is our goal to join with all of those disparate voices; to talk across the entire scope of an issue and to give you a place where your voice is heard and valued.
Please, take the time to start a conversation with us.
More to come…
