I am trying to understand the current definition of “greed”. Let me see if I have this right.

Person A: Works hard in school, goes to college (10k-15k per year) and attains a bachelors degree, takes and passes the Medical School entrance exams, attends medical school for 4 years (25K-50k per year), works through their residency for a period of 3 to 8 years and finally passes the certification exams and obtains their license. The estimated costs of a medical degree is about 200k. They then have the potential to earn 150-250k per year and pay aproximately 75K per year in malpractice insurance. It can go as high as 200K per year in Urban areas. Logically these rates will push up the desire to raise salaries to keep pace. So Senior Doctors can make as much as 300-350K in urban areas.

Person B: Coasts through high school, tries a few college classes but stops before their junior year and works on a loading dock for 30-40k per year.

If I have the current definition right, Person A wanting to keep 50-60% of what they earn is greed. Person B wanting to pay nothing, tax person A and use that money to get themselves free services is compassion. Do I have this right? Somehow something about risk and reward keep popping into my head. Must be some outdated memory trying to resurface.
